Save Eastbourne Speed Days!!!! FACEBOOK GROUP In case you didn't know, Eastbourne Council will cancel this years Speed Days unless a sponsor can be found. Seems a real shame as so many people came to watch last year, and for 3 years its got bigger and bigger. The council even re-paved the road. Lets try to make this happen, sign up to the Facebook group and get involved.

Happy to welcome the blazing Brazillian, Bruno Oliveira to team Virage 'Flow'. A really fast determined racer with a great attitude Bruno will be racing in Brazil and Europe in 2010. Here he is in Hyde Park, London before going back to Brazil to avoid our winter...doing a McDonalds 'Hamburglar' impression!

The new Virage Vite is now ready for sale, designed as a front tight, tight/hybrid slalom truck to add to the Virage slalom range. Proudly made in England they feature well proven Bennett style angles, with a spherical machined angled pivot, spherical bearing in the hanger, built in angle, riser, speedrings. uses regular grade 8 kingpins and Khiro pivot cups. We are prepared for the upcoming Royal Mail dispute by negotiating some special rates for delivery. Currently our checkout system calculates shipping by weight. For items up to around £7 postal cost its been cheaper to use Royal Mail, anything costing more we have been offering the option of DHL 48 hour shipping.
We now have a NEW rate which covers all orders up to 2kg total weight. This covers things like a set of wheels, pair of trucks, loads of small items. This new rate is £2.99 for tracked delivery. You do not need to be at home to sign for it, if you are out it will be passed to a neighbour or put through the letter box. Delivery is 2 to 5 days.
If items are needed urgently and locally (roughly within the M25 London area or northern home counties) we can also deliver in the evenings, personally.
As a business that relies heavily on delivery services we hope these new options and prices will help customers get their gear quickly and at a good price.

We have added a new facility to our site, the 'Live Chat/Support' area. Simply click on the link and a pop up box will appear, enabling you to chat in real time to us. we hope this will help customers who may not want to phone, or perhaps live abroad. Dont worry, we don't mind if English isnt your first language, or if you can't type well. Its ideal for quick questions and advice and we hope you enjoy using it. People often ask us if Octane is a full time business...it is! We hope to have the Live Chat facility on for as much time during the day as possible, but sometimes we will need to do other stuff. If the red light is on, check back later to see whether we are back!

The new dates for Cadwell Park Track Day are finalised. Saturday 14th November) there will be a BBQ and camping, for Sunday 15th Novembers Freeriding Trackday. For those that don't know Cadwell is an amazing race circuit, known for its hills. One hill is used for the Gravity Carts, and the rest is used for skating. Octane Sport will be providing our ramps and timing gear for a Giant Slalom course. We will have two different courses with a 'Top Gear' style scoreboard, and a Jam format to give us a fixed ending time. If you sign up for the freeride you will automatically gain entry to the slalom. Give it a go!

The new series of Rory and Paddy's Great British Adventure airs next year in January. We did some work with them at the Eastbourne Downhill Race in August, but I can't tell you what! (yet!). Great fun to work with, and nice guys.

The revised date for Cadwell has been announced, Sunday November the 15th. Sign up details will be ready soon, Lush Longboards are organising sign up. We will be providing start ramp and timing gear, including a 'Top Gear' style score board. The idea is that anyone who signs up for the freeride can also give the single lane GS courses a whirl. Camping and a BBQ on the Saturday night. More details soon.

Octane Sport are sometimes asked to consult on T.V., Radio and Newspaper pieces. We are able to offer advice and opinions on all skate related issues. We have also trained presenters to skate safely, teaching the Blue Peter presenter, Helen Skelton to compete in a World Cup Downhill race, with organised days of training a preparation. Michael Stride has also appeared as an 'Expert Judge' on Scrapheap Challenge, been interviewed by radio and newspapers on various skate related issues. We have also organised corporate training and helped organise safe skate related events. We do own our own start ramps and digital timing gear with large timing screens for dual or single lane races.
